Hey world,

I wanted to give an update today about the status of my book club passion project. Kyle and I have decided we want to make the repo public and give out our code to anyone who wants to stand up their own book club on a server. I will continue to make small changes to the repo on an infrequent basis. I think what we have is a great starting point for someone to go and create their own book club for their friends, and not have to worry about what happens with their data or having it be used to train an algorithm if thats something they aren't into. A free social (or not so social) app with no advertisements or marketing. This is kinda bittersweet but I think it's the right way to conclude what has been a really fun project that has taught me a ton about building products, thinking about social dynamics, working with close friends and whats possible if you dream big! I wanna shout out Kyle for being a rad compadre and great teammate on this - he did a ton of work for the sole purpose of learning which is fucking badass.

I am excited to use what I learned on this project on the next thing i build. I would like to continue working on niche social media projects as i think there is a lot of growth potential there.
