# I've been doing stuff!

Hello world,

I'm here to go over progress the app i've been building in tandem with a close friend of mine for the past 6 months. While we still have work ahead of us, we have a defined idea of our mvp that is not too far off.

"A pointed social media app aimed at sheparding discourse and celebrating books".

What once was about enabling writers to create and share their work has slimmed down into a product whose utility can be defined in a couple statements:

WhAt It DoEs🥐:

🍞 Recommends books based off ml tags generated from good reads data, in app social activity (following friends, bookshelves, etc) and employs retrieval-augmented generation for giving users insights into their own reading preferences and patterns. You can either load up your GR data and we can create some cultivated bookshelves of works you might like for starters OR you can fill out our sign up form. We can offer a reader insights into why a book is recommended to them with explainable AI making it possible for users to better understand why and how they read. We plan to give readers the ability to keep inventory of their thoughts while reading a book, accessible via in app chat bot. As i'm writing this we should also totally make data exportable via downloadable pdf.

🍪 UX for more objective conversations. In our app everything revolves around the review model. Reviews consist of updates, comparisons, reviews, recommendations and milestones. Posting is tied to specific books and questions that will guide conversation towards thoughtful dialogues about books instead of inviting bullshit brigades of marketing content that can drown out your experience (case in point, facebook, twitter, and instagram).
